Una mas

I'm putting my stuff up at yet another coffee shop. The problem is, my best/favorite paintings were all sold, and this place wants stuff for its walls NOW. I was supposed to bring my pieces by yesterday but I feel like I only have a few that would be worthy. Mmmrrrrrrrrr.

Engagement.

But.

On November 22 I had just flown from Minnesota to Florida. I was tired but excited to see my boyfriend, who had flown in the day before. He convinced me to go for a walk and a smoke on the beach, even though it was cold and I quit smoking. I had just thrown my cigarette in the sand when he grabbed my arms and knelt. He asked me to marry him with the kind of hopefulness that a child has when asking for the most expensive Christmas present. I collapsed onto him, crying, saying "yes yes yes yes". We knelt in the sand for a long time.

First art show

My friend set up an art show in Feb. for me. I'm pretty sure it would have never happened had I been left to do it...but I'm glad it's happening! It's at a local coffee shop called Bliss, and my work will be up for the entire month of February.

Needless to say, this causes great excitement, but also great anxiety. I have a whole six months, but I want a coherent body of work that really reflects me. I haven't been painting as much as I should this summer, but this show is giving me a great excuse to spend more late coffee-crazed nights getting messy with watercolors.
